Casey's island2012 website says that Casey finally got a W-2 job. Casey writes:
"Yes, an actual “W-2″ job! First time since January 2006 when I quit my last W-2 job, Programmer at Pride Industries. Pretty exciting stuff actually. I’m enjoying the job and there is already reason to believe I will stick with this one long term. Especially since there is an opportunity to add value through marketing."
All of the Haterz may be surprised he finally got a W-2 job, but I'm sure they are not surprised that he intends to "add value through marketing". Casey thinks he is some sort of marketing guru when he is really better at blog trolling. However, if Casey is actually working from some sort of script, maybe he has a chance.
Casey is already thinking of voluntarily allowing his parentz to stop enabling him through free lodging:
"The amount of income should be enough to move out into my own place again. I’m thinking of going back to downtown / midtown / East Sac area. Living in-town for 6 months at the beginning of this year was really nice. That way I’m close to my job, my favorite yoga studio, and everything else that is going on in Sacramento. (I’ve been wanting to get more into the local scene.)"
Okay, so Casey wants to be close to a yoga studio and "get more into the local scene" by moving closer to downtown. You know, a certain type of guy wants to be closer to yoga studios. Anyway, Casey gives a shout-out to his parentz for the good enabling vibez:
"I’m very VERY thankful to my parents for the “safety net” (their home) that I have been taking advantage of quite often in the last few years of my entrepreneurial adventures. However, at 27, I am very much looking to get back to independent mode. Although, I may stay here a little longer to save up some money and pay down some debt. We shall see how things play out."
Well, not so fast...maybe Casey needs to stay home to pay down some debtz faster, which is Casey-code for "I need to remain close to Mommy and Daddy because the real world is so big and scary --- and they have a nice TV too". I think between paying down his debtz faster or moving out, I think most haterz would agree he should move out because they don't believe the first part.
Then, in a strange twist that may be hard to believe right now, Casey wants to keep his job under wrapz:
"At this point I am not going to disclose any more about my job as the employer wants to stay anonymous and I completely support that idea. Good lessons learned from last job."
It's amazing that Casey even needs to learn lessonz from his last job when a 10-year-old could have told him to keep his mouth shut about working with Angel Lynn. But he actually discussed this with his now boss? Well, you can thank the Law of Attraction for a wild, wacky, OUTRAGEOUS turn of events!
"I haven’t shared yet how much of a fortunate co-incidence getting this job has been. The very day I seriously considered getting a job is when I ran into an old friend whom I haven’t seen in years! We started talking about his business and he happened to have an open position which he offered to me right on the spot!! I started off part-time and based on my performance was allowed to go full-time. (The only reason I ran into him, by the way, is because I volunteered to stay after and help cleanup at an engagement party I attended, which happened to be right next to where my job is!)"
Yes, it's really crazy to run into people you know! (It's called networking, you moron!)
And oh, by the way, I was just thinking about getting a job (because my parentz told me to get my shit together!)
And my new boss friend dude has an open position! Sweet! (Even in this economy where some people are practically starving!)
And in just a few days, I went full-time based on my performance! (Because I have nothing else to do all day, so why not?)
Casey is already wondering how he can work full-time and keep his island dream alive. The conflicts in his wobbly little brain are already fighting against each other.
